Shampoo Bars. It's what the cool kids are all talking about these days. We talk about shampoo bars vs. liquid shampoo in our blog post here, but at the end of the day, many are switching to an eco-friendly shampoo bar. A bar though... for your hair? Does it work? Is it just for short hair? How is it even good for the earth?

So what is the NUMBER ONE REASON SHAMPOO BARS ARE ECO FRIENDLY?

Shampoo Bars eliminate the need for plastic shampoo bottles!
You may have seen some shocking information circulating about how much plastic waste shampoo and conditioner bottles create. Like literal TONS and TONS. Think about it-- if every family in the USA uses 4 shampoo bottles a year (which is a super low amount... but for the sake of this example, we will go with it).

Families in the USA : 82.83 Million (Census Bureau 2017)

Shampoo Bottles per year: 4

That is 331.32 MILLION bottles of shampoo used a year! And that's not taking into consideration conditioner or the daily mini bottles of shampoo and conditioner used by hotels...

While plastic can be recycled (and I love that more and more attention is being brought to effectively recycling plastic, instead of just making more), what if we could completely eliminate the need for plastic for an entire product group? Enter SHAMPOO BARS

Here are ANOTHER 5 reasons shampoo bars are good for the earth:

1. Shampoo Bars last longer per use than liquid shampoo

Since it is not a liquid, one bar has a concentration equivalence of multiple shampoo bottles. Mileage, however, may vary depending on washing habits, but typically you get 3x more from a shampoo bar compared to a liquid shampoo. (But remember, the longer a bar is exposed to water the faster it will break down!)

2. Shampoo Bars are lighter to ship.

Did you know that in most liquid shampoos, one of the FIRST ingredients is water! Yep. So by eliminating water as an ingredient, we can make a much more dense and concentrated product! Because they are more concentrated, more bars can be shipped to shops and warehouses at a time... so less fuel for transport vehicles (less of a carbon footprint!)... it may all seem like small amounts of "better", trust me, it adds up!

3. Shampoo Bars are easy to travel with.

No liquid means TSA approved! I wrote more about skin care traveling tips in this post. Plus, with this being an all in one bar, it means less to pack (and carry around!)

4. Shampoo Bars are multi-purpose (extra versatile!).

Washes face, hair and body (truly a minimalists dream :) Our shampoo bars are specially formulated (different than our other bar soap) to have a very rich lather, so this makes this bar ideal for shaving as well as washing hair. The sea salt and clay also help pull impurities from the skin and scalp. These bars are so rich!

5. Our Shampoo Bars are made with cleaner (better for you and the earth!) ingredients.

We don't have to use chemical preservatives. Not all shampoo bars are created equal. Our bars are specifically made without using any petroleum products, parabens, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, or sulfates. We love creating shampoo bars that are full of organic ingredients and pure essential oils. Ready to make the switch to an eco-friendly shampoo bar? Check them out HERE

Foot Cream for Calluses: What Actually Softens Hard Skin (And Why Scrubbing Alone Fails)

May 27, 2026 11 min read

Calluses on your feet are not a dryness problem. They form from repeated pressure and friction, which means treating them like dry skin often makes them come back faster. The key is knowing which ingredients actually soften thickened skin, and why the order you apply them matters more than the product itself.
